KEDARKANTHA TREK

Kedarkantha is a popular winter summit trek for beginners who want to get started with Himalayan Treks. This trek will take you through the breathtaking views from the top, as the trails are easy to climb it turns out to be popular among trekkers. The trail goes through the beautiful and thick pine forests of Govind National Park. The views from the summit are worth a climb of an altitude of 12,500 feet.

Day: 1 - Drive from Dehradun to Sankri
Altitude: 6,400 feet
220kms drive: Approx 10 hours
Pickup point: Dehradun Railway Station at 6.30 am

It's a long and beautiful drive from Dehradun to Sankri. Transport will be organised by TechAlps.

The vehicle costs Rs 6,000 for Bolero (SUV) (6 seater) and Rs 9,000 per Tempo Traveller (Mini Bus).

Day 2 - Trek from Sankri to Juda ka Talab
Altitude gain: 6,400 feet to 8,100 feet
4kms trek, approx 5 hours

The trek trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, a few streams, and finally opens out to beautiful meadows.

Explore the surroundings around Juda Ka Talab. Camp stay in tents.

Day3 - Juda ka Talab to Kedarkantha Base camp
Altitude gain: 8,100 feet to 10,500 feet
4kms trek, approx 2.5 hours

Most of today’s trail is on a ridge, under oak trees. You will also pass through some meadows where you can spot shepherd log huts. View of the peaks Bandarpoonch, Swargarohini, Kala Nag, and Ranglana stand among the others.

Enjoy the views of snow-covered mountains, click pictures and have fun. Retire for the day, camp stay in tents.

Day 4 - Base camp to Kedarkantha Summit
Altitude gain: 10,500 feet to 12,500 feet to 8,100 feet
6kms trek, approx 7 hours

Big day, start early morning and summit Kedarkanth peak. Spend some time watching the beautiful sunrise at the summit and the 360 degrees mesmerising view of the peaks surrounding.

Descend back to the base camp by noon for lunch. Post lunch, descend down to Juda ka Talab by evening. Camp stay in tents.

Day 5 - Juda ka Talab to Sankri
Altitude: 8100 feet - 6400feet

Descend back to Sankri and rest in homestay/dorm.

Day 6 - Drive from Sankri to Deharadun
220kms drive: Start by 6.30 am morning.

Drive back to Dehradun from Sankri. Transport will be organised by TechAlps.
