GULABI KANTHA TREK

Gulabi Kantha Trek – Untouched trail of Garhwal Himalayas. It is meadow located at a height of 12000 feet (3656 mts). It is explored in recent years and less trekked trail. As it is a unexplored place it is a perfect winter snow trek for beginners and experienced trekkers.

Gulabi Kantha is the other side of Dodital Lake. This trek provides 360 degrees view of the Himalayan mountains, some of the mountains seen from Gulabi Kantha are Bandarpoonch peak, Kalindi sirkala, Shivalik mountains, and Chaukhamba peaks.

Day 1 - Drive from Deharadun to Barkot
Altitude: 7,000 feet
165kms drive: Approx 8-9 hours
Pickup point: Dehradun Railway Station at 6.30 am

Enchanting hill drive through valleys from Dehradun to Barkot. Transport will be organised by TechAlps.

The vehicle costs Rs 6,000 for Bolero (SUV) (6 seater) and Rs 9,000 per Tempo Traveller (Mini Bus).

Day 2 - Barkot to Hanuman Chatti to Kandola
Altitude gain: 1,250 meters to 3,000 meters
5-6kms trek, approx 5 hours

The day starts with a 30kms drive from Barkot to Hanuman Chatti the trek start point. Hanuman Chatti is the base for several treks like Bali pass.

Start Trek to Kandola the destination for the day via Nishni village. May visit the Shiv Mandir enroute to Kandola.

The trek trail passes through dense pine forests, maple trees, a few streams. Reach Kandola explore the surroundings. Camp stay in tents.

Day 3 - Kandola to Seema Thach
Altitude gain: 3,000 meters to 3,400 meters
5-6kms trek, approx 5 hours

Trek trail today is a bit steep and takes around 4 - 5 hours to reach Seema Thach the end of the forest. It is a peak a boo moment when we see the mountains Bandarpunch peak, Shivalik Mountains, Kalindi Srikala and Chaukhamba peak end of the treeline. The Seema Thatch camp is windy as the campsite is a small plateau.

Day 4 - Seema Thach to Gulabi Kanatha Summit, back to Seema Thach
Altitude gain: 3,400 meters to 3,656 meters
10kms trek, approx 8 hours

As usual summit day is the longest day with packed lunch. The climb is steep but the beautiful views come with the hardest climbs. It takes around 2-3 hours to reach the summit.

Gulabi Kantha summit is surrounded by mountain valleys and ranges, the panoramic 360 degrees view of the mighty Himalayas. You will witness the Shivalik Mountains, Kalindi Srikala, and Chaukhamba peak. On the other side, we have Swargarohini, Black Peak, and Bandarpoonch. Finish lunch with the beautiful views and start back to the Seema Thach campsite. Retire for the day in tents.

Day 5 - Seema Thach to Barkot
9-10kms trek and 30kms drive

Trek down from Seema thatch to Barkot and drive to Hanuman Chatti.

It's time to share the trek experience among the group members and revisit the moments spent in the mountains.

Day 6 - Barkot to Deharadun
165kms drive: Approx 8-9 hours
Drop point: Dehradun Railway Station

Start early around 7 am as it's a long drive to Dehradun from Barkot. Transport will be organised by TechAlps.
